Rene Alperstein (born 30 June 1964) is a British former actress, best known for the part of Pamela Cartwright in Grange Hill (BBC 1981-1982)

She was a full-time pupil at the Italia Conti Stage School and trained in tap, ballet and jazz dance.

After leaving Grange Hill, she spent some time in theatre, which included The King and I and various pantomimes. She toured the Middle and Far East with Derek Nimmo's company in There's a Girl in My Soup.

She also had television parts in Alas Smith and Jones (BBC), Who Dares Wins (Channel 4) as well as numerous TV commercials.

She has now quit acting to become a medical recruitment consultant.
